The concept design for the Industrial Training Institute at Perumbakkam, Tamil Nadu, was developed with a focus on creating a skilled workforce.
Commissioned by India Ltd for the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, the project carefully considered the local climate and context in its design.
The Institute and the hostel buildings were designed to be compact with open corridors, ensuring optimal ventilation. The training workshops were planned as a separate building to minimize noise disruption to the rest of the campus. Additionally, red sandstone was used for the external façade, offering durability and reducing long-term maintenance costs. This thoughtful design aims to provide an effective and sustainable environment for training the next generation of skilled professionals.
