The extended facades of the building feature a continuous curtain wall that allows ample natural light to enter. However, the significant depth of the floor plates presented a challenge in drawing light into the core of the office.
The office layout was carefully planned to maximize natural light throughout the workspace. Open work areas are positioned along the perimeter, while enclosed cabins and meeting rooms are centrally located, oriented perpendicular to the glazing to enhance light distribution. These enclosed areas also serve to segment the floor into smaller, more manageable work zones, providing visual separation and facilitating team-specific space allocation. This layout creates a dynamic visual experience, with different spaces gradually revealed as one moves through the office.
The ground floor’s circular area serves as a striking and bold reception. The rectangular portion of the floor plate accommodates the Administration, HR, and Finance departments. The upper three floors feature general workstations along with offices and meeting rooms. One entire floor is dedicated to research and development labs, designed to be both functional and modular, with custom-built details for trunking and services. To accommodate high-density usage, each floor includes breakout and collaboration zones. These areas are equipped with flexible furniture, allowing for easy reconfiguration.
Landis+Gyr, known for manufacturing durable metering systems for industrial applications, integrates advanced technology into their products. The new workspace design reflects these dual aspects of the company’s offerings. The open ceilings and exposed services along the perimeter embody the industrial nature of the products, while the central zone presents a contrasting sleek and sophisticated look.
The industrial-themed areas near the glazing are primarily gray with exposed services, while vibrant colors are used strategically in the central zones to create a visually stimulating environment. The company’s brand colors are prominently featured throughout the office. The general and laboratory furniture is custom-designed to meet specific functional needs, and accent colors are used in the boardroom and Network Operations Center (NOC) to distinguish these areas. The overall design, including lighting, ventilation, and acoustics, is tailored to promote a productive and efficient work environment.
